Stakeholder engagement
Print
At Holcim, developing and maintaining strong relationships with our stakeholders is vital to the success of our business. We are committed to a continuous process of listening to, and learning from, people and organizations engaged with our operations around the world.
Consultation and dialog
Holcim remains committed to ongoing consultation with a broad range of stakeholders, as demonstrated by the fact that 54% of Group companies have a community advisory panel in place and 88% conducted a stakeholder dialog in 2008.

Our collaboration and partnership activities included organizing, together with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit GTZ, a second stakeholder dialog on "co-processing challenges and opportunities for waste management and resource efficiency" in November 2008 in Zurich. These engagements help us understand stakeholder concerns and expectations.

(For further information, please see the case study here.)
Working in cooperation with organizations at both global and local levels is integral to maintaining our license to operate and achieving a more sustainable future. We have developed a rich network of external partners. This spans our activities in community development, economic development, education, environment, health, and affordable housing and construction, and includes our key strategic corporate partnerships with GTZ and the International Union for Conservation of Nature IUCN.
