Stakeholder engagement
At Holcim, developing and maintaining strong relationships with our stakeholders is vital to the success of our business. We are committed to a continuous process of listening to, and learning from, people and organizations engaged with our operations around the world.
Consultation and dialog
Holcim remains committed to ongoing consultation with a broad range of stakeholders, as demonstrated by the fact that 50% of Group companies have a community advisory panel in place and 89% conducted a stakeholder dialog in 2007.

Our collaboration and partnership activities included organizing, together with GTZ, a stakeholder dialog on "co-processing challenges and opportunities for waste management and resource efficiency" and a workshop on "construction and demolition waste in developing countries". These engagements help us understand stakeholder concerns and expectations.

Working in cooperation with organizations at both global and local levels is integral to maintaining our license to operate and achieving a more sustainable future. We have developed a rich network of external partners. This spans our activities in community development, economic development, education, environment, health, and affordable housing and construction, and includes our key strategic corporate partnerships with GTZ and IUCN.
