Richard Skene
Country Manager of Holcim Hungaria ZRt.
He graduated as an economist from the Economic University of Vienna in 1986.
After finishing his studies, Mr Skene worked for Austrian Raiffeisen Zentralbank as key account manager for institutional investors as well as investment fund manager until 1989. Changing from the financial sector to the industrial sector, he proceeded his career with a leading Austrian food manufacturer, Mautner Markhof AG (MMAG) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this position he was managing the investment of MMAG in Hungary during the privatisation.
After the successful privatisation Mr Skene moved to Hungary and took over the position of the Chief Financial Officer for BUSZESZ Rt between 1992 and 1997.
Since 1997 he has been working at Holcim, one of the world’s leading producers of cement, aggregates and concrete, as a Management Board member and the chief financial officer of Holcim Hungária Rt. In this function he contributed to the restructuring and expansion of the Hungarian operations. In addition to his function in Hungary
Mr Richard Skene was the CFO of Holcim (Slovensko) a. s. from 2002.-2004, taking over responsibility for this field in the countries Hungary, Slovak Republic and Czech Republic as well as the Eastern parts of Austria.
Since January 2005 Mr. Skene is Country Manager of Hungary.
