Aggregates for Concrete
The size of the coarse aggregate particles range from 5 mm upto 76 mm.The quality of agg regates for concrete is established in Mexican standard NMX-C-111.To provide valuable solutions for its customers, Holcim Apascooffers a variety of aggregates for the production of mortar, readymixed concrete, pipe, blocks and precast structural concrete.

Crushed pea gravel 3/8” (5 to 10 mm).
  • Produced from andesitic quarries.
  • Typical use, production of concrete, blocks, pipe and precaststructural elements.
  • Also used for high-strength concrete.natural and crushed sand for concretes and mortar applications.

Crushed gravel 1/2”- 3/4” (12 to 20 mm).
  • Produced from limestone, andesitic and basaltic-andesiticquarries.
  • Typical use, production of concrete, blocks, pipe and precaststructural elements.
  • Also used for high-strength concrete.

Crushed gravel 1”– 1 1/2” (20 to 40 mm).
  • Produced from limestone, andesitic and basaltic-andesiticquarries.
  • Typical use, industrial floors on ground, pavements, i.e., concretes for which flexural strength is required.
  • It is also used inmass concrete and as ballast in the construction of railways .

Fine Aggregate: Sands
  • The origin of these materials is natural deposits from rivers,lakes, alluvial fans,val leys and mountains.
  • They can also comefrom crushing cobbles, other large rocks and gravels as well.
  • The size of the sand particles range from 0.075 mm up to 4.75 mm.

Natural fine sand 0-3 mm
  • Usually come from andesitic quarries.
  • Frequently used in the production of ready mixed mortarand concrete.
  • Other common applications include concretefor pipes, blocks and precast structural concrete.

Natural sand 0-5 mm
  • Usually come from andesitic quarries.
  • Frequently used in the production of ready mixed mortarand concrete.
  • Other common applications include concretefor pipes, blocks and precast structural concrete.

Crushed sand 0-5 mm
  • Usually come from andesitic and from basaltic-andesiticquarries.
  • Frequently used in the production of ready mixed concretea nd asphalt mixes.
  • Other common applications include concretefor pipes, blocks and precast structural concrete.
