How cement is made
· Clinker: This is produced in one of the Group companies by burning at high temperature a finely ground mixture of calcareous (limestone) and argillaceous (clay, sand, pyrite, bauxite, etc) materials in a rotary kiln and shipped to the plant by bulk vessel via Johor Port and conveyed to one of the storage silos directly by a pipe conveyor.
· Gypsum & Limestone: Gypsum and limestone are similarly shipped – but in smaller vessels and transported to covered stores by trucks.
· Grinding: After pre-crushing in a high pressure roller press, the clinker and approximately 4% each of gypsum and limestone are fed into the closed circuit ball mill equipped with a high efficiency separator to produce cement of required fineness.
· Packing & Loading: From the storage silos, the cement is either loaded in bulk tankers or packed into 50-kg bags for delivery to customers.

The entire process is automated and controlled from a Central Control Room (CCR).
