Ready mixed concrete
Ready mixed concrete is the fastest and most convenient way to pour concrete. Quality is assured from the supply of the raw materials to the control of the mix design at the production plant (often computerised). Sand, gravel, cement, water and admixtures are combined in such a way as to maximise concrete workability and performance.

Operating from ten plants in the upper half of the North Island, our modern fleet of mixer trucks offer a convenient and cost-effective method of supplying concrete to commercial, industrial, rural and residential projects of all shapes and sizes. All plants have “Special Grade” status which guarantees concrete production to NZS:3104.

We operate fully equipped laboratories in Auckland and Waikato which check consistency of raw materials and mix designs and play a key role in new product development. Where projects call for specialised technical assistance, we have technical staff available to assist with solutions.

In addition to conventionally laid concrete, it’s possible to create a range of interesting textures and finishes to heighten the visual impact of concrete. Among these decorative forms of concrete are exposed aggregate, coloured concrete, stencilled and stamped concrete, and various grooved and grouted panel effects.

Technical Solutions
Many commercial customers are seeking higher specification concrete to enhance the quality of finish, manage special applications, handle complex formwork and extend the serviceable life of concrete. One such product is self-compacting concrete.

The initial cost of self-compacting concrete is higher than conventional concrete but the total cost of the product in place can be cheaper and the outcome better. There are considerable savings in time and manpower, quality is consistent, it can handle complex formwork, provide a very smooth finish, reduce noise, improve safety and allow formwork to be re-used.

Holcim Concrete operates a modern mixer truck fleet and the latest computerised batching technology to ensure consistent performance in the production and delivery of ready mixed concrete to customers’ specifications.

Major customers can also access a password protected internet site (www.holcimonline.co.nz) to view the availability of trucks in real time and to order accordingly.

Standard hours for Auckland Central Despatch deliveries are between 6.30am and 5.00pm weekdays and 6.00am until 11.00am Saturdays.

Waikato Central Dispatch generally operates between 6.00am to 6.00pm weekdays and 6.00am until 11.00am Saturdays.

For special projects which require delivery outside these hours, we can usually accommodate seven-day delivery given sufficient prior notice.

Deliveries typically start from 0.4 cubic metres, enough for 4 square metres of driveway at 100 mm deep. As mixer trucks typically carry 5.0 cubic metres of concrete it is more economical to order larger amounts.

Holcim Concrete’s bevelled edge pavers and cobbles are ideal for driveways, paths, patios, garden edges and pool surrounds.

They come in a range of natural colours and sizes to add warmth, texture and character to plain and uninspiring areas around the home or business.
