Taylor’s Lime, a fully owned subsidiary of Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd, operates a modern lime works at Makareao in Otago, where it manufactures high quality burnt and hydrated lime and a range of ground calcium carbonates.
The company has a network of depots throughout the South Island (Nelson, Christchurch, Southland) handling bagged product, while bulk supplies originate from the plant.
Taylor’s products come under four categories:
Hydrated Lime
A finely divided high purity calcium hydroxide, Taylor’s hydrated lime is ideal for use in effluent treatment, drinking water treatment, fellmongery, building materials and many other applications. It is available in 25kg, bulk bags and by pneumatic road tanker.
Ground Calcium Carbonate
Taylor’s ground limestone products have a high purity and brightness. The Taylocarb range of products has a mean particle size between 5-30 microns and is used as a filler in a wide range of industrial applications. Taylor's produce a 2mm minus ground product for the agricultural lime market and a micro fine lime supplement "Calcimate" for the dairy industry.
Stabilime
This is a de-dusted oxide chip suitable for roading construction. Stabilime provides a sound base for roads, tracks, dairy pads, pipe trenches and many other applications by stabilising clay-bound soils. It is available in 40 kg bags or in bulk for use with a chip spreader.
Burnt Lime
Burnt Lime is a highly reactive calcium oxide available as a lump or ground product in bags, bulk bags, bulk truck or tanker. As an alkali, it is used in gold mining, steel manufacturing and many other areas.
