Bluestone Aggregates
Bluestone Aggregates New Zealand is home to a rich assortment of rocks capable of adding visual impact to residential and commercial building projects. But few can match the natural good looks and wonderful workability of Bombay Bluestone. The varied textures and colours apparent on the handsome weathered faces of this basalt are naturally harmonious and add visual depth and permanence. From the artisan’s perspective, Bombay Bluestone’s natural jointing and bedding planes make it a simple pleasure to cut and shape.

Taking Time
In Crotia, building stone walls is a very serious business. Which explains why Matty Franich spent three arduous years as an apprentice on the Adriatic Coast perfecting the stonemason's art. That was 50 years ago and Matty is still building stone walls, his way - hand picking the stones and cutting them with a spoiling hammer. Matty's walls feature many rocks but he especially enjoys the Bluestone from Bombay Quarry. It looks good, is durable, holds its colour, trims well and is just a bit lighter to lift than other bluestone - pretty important when you're 65 and still lugging blocks of it around all day.
