Northern Aggregates
Over the years our northern quarries have built up a solid reputation for delivering very consistent, high quality aggregate for a range of applications including ready mixed concrete, roading and specialty products.

The northern aggregate quarries are capable of producing material in substantial volume. The newest and largest quarry, Bombay, has a 13 million tonne deposit of high grade basalt 70 metres thick. Its primary production is about 400 tonnes per hour and its aggregate production around 250 tonnes per hour. Our products and locations...

Shared Knowledge
Through our Holcim connections, we can not only take advantage of the experience gained by other aggregate operations around New Zealand we can also tap into the accumulated knowledge of aggregate producers in over seventy countries worldwide.

Quality Control
Holcim Aggregate’s fully equipped, IANZ accredited laboratory at Bombay Quarry provides the technical support for both the company aggregate production facilities (Bombay and Waikato quarries) and our external customers. The laboratory undertakes pre-production and in-process testing to support aggregate production process control, and finished product verification testing to ensure each product meets the desired specifications.

Customers have the added security of a product traceability system. Under our lot management procedure, each product stockpile is allocated a unique lot number which allows us to supply customers with a complete product test history.

In the case of Bombay Quarry, sophisticated computer technology controls the total production process, and aggregate blends can be made to precise individual specifications by simply keying in the required recipe.

Supply Continuity
For larger contracts in particular having an assured supply is essential. Holcim Aggregate works closely with customers to ensure that sufficient product is continuously available through its comprehensive sales forecasting and planning systems.

Convenience
In addition to the quarries, Holcim Aggregate operates a distribution centre on the North Shore. The site, conveniently located at Albany, can store temporary stockpiles for maintenance or minor construction and also handles specialist aggregate.

Products to Suit
While the range of products offered by Holcim Aggregate covers the majority of usages, we do have the ability to develop products to meet particular specifications for clients, where they are viable.

Environmental
Holcim Aggregate is careful to mitigate the effects of its operations on the surrounding environment. Measures taken within the quarry include re-cycling of waste oil, protective pads for vehicle servicing, inceptors for waste material and avoidance of spillage and weekly safety and environmental site inspections.
