We charter only world-class vessels that are fully compliant with international safety and environmental standards, and encourage our partners to utilize the cleanest methods for loading and discharging vessels.

Our Projects department is specialized in the design and construction of pneumatic import/export terminals for cement, which guarantee a totally enclosed and dust-free transport system from the vessel to the cement terminal. This technology has been implemented in new terminals in Madagascar, in Sri Lanka and in the Dominican Republic, among others.

In collaboration with selected suppliers, Holcim Trading has participated in the design of new technological advances in bulk minerals handling equipment. Dust emissions from open hold crane-and-grab discharge operations are greatly reduced with "dust free" hoppers which add oversized dust collectors and filters to traditional equipment.
