Economic Impact
The Ste. Genevieve plant will bring jobs and economic growth to the immediate area, and far beyond. Direct impacts include more than 1,000 construction workers employed at the peak of construction, about 200 full-time employees once the plant is operational, and millions of dollars of direct purchases for everything from construction materials to electricity. A study conducted by the Center for Economic and Business Research in the Donald L. Harrison School of Business at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) found that construction and operation of the plant will have an “enormous [economic] impact on the State of Missouri.”
