China is the world’s largest cement market. A strong market presence in China is of critical importance to Holcim. Holcim's involvement in cement industry in China commenced over 20 years ago - with the technical know-how of our industry consultants utilized by local cement producers. In 1995, the Group was a private shareholder of the establishment of Suzhou Golden Cat Cement with a production capacity of 3 million tons per annum under a joint venture with a local partner in Jiangsu province. In the same year, a representative office was also created in Beijing, developing links with various relevant organizations. In 1999, Holcim became a partner in Huaxin Cement in Hubei province with a production capacity of 6 million tons per annum, strategically well positioned with production facilities throughout Hubei province, as well as some markets of Eastern China region. On January 1, 2004, Holcim has contributed to the expansion of Huaxin Cement by transferring its participation in Suzhou Golden Cat Cement into Huaxin Cement. In response to the increasingly improved business environment and growing demand for high quality cement, Holcim is to strengthen its presence in the world’s largest cement market. Holcim is committed to blending foreign managerial skills with local industrial professionalism, and supporting the local policy to modernize the cement industry and to make it environmentally sustainable. |

Holcim在中国 – 未来投资展望 中国是目前世界上最大的水泥市场。立足中国市场对Holcim集团的发展至关重要。 Holcim 参与中国水泥工业的历史可以追溯到20多年以前， 当时Holcim的技术专家与中国的水泥厂商合作将自己的专业知识传播应用到中国的水泥生产实践中。 1995年, 集团作为私人股东在江苏省参与组建了中外合资企业——苏州金猫水泥有限公司，其水泥年生产能力达300万吨。同年，集团在北京设立代表处，发展同各相关机构间的联系。 1999年, Holcim 加盟湖北华新水泥股份有限公司，成为华新水泥最大的私人非控股股东。华新水泥具有年产600万吨水泥的生产能力，业务范围覆盖湖北及华东地区，战略位置极佳。 2004年1月1日，Holcim 将其在苏州金猫水泥有限公司所持有的股权转让给华新水泥股份有限公司，从而有力推进了华新水泥的拓展。 随着中国经营环境的不断改善以及对高品质水泥需求的日益增长，Holcim 集团将继续加强在这一世界最大水泥市场中的地位。Holcim致力于国际先进的经营管理方法和当地专业技术的结合，支持当地政府的方针政策，为实现水泥工业现代化和加强环境保护的可持续发展做出贡献。 |
