Holcim's expectations towards COP21

The IPCC has recently released a report, highlighting that addressing climate change is urgent, but that options to limit its dangerous effects do indeed exist.

The COP20 in Lima is imminent and should be an important milestone towards achieving an international agreement in Paris at the end of 2015.

Hocim position paper

Holcim has issued a paper outlining its position on an international agreement on climate change. In brief, Holcim believes that addressing climate change requires an international agreement, with binding reduction targets based on the ability of sectors to reduce emissions. To achieve these targets in the most efficient way, market based regulations are necessary along with research in energy-efficient technologies. In parallel, the impact of climate change requires urgent actions to increase the resilience of the built environment.
