That is especially true of Type M Holcim Mortamix® Masonry Cement, which is ideally suited for all masonry jobs where maximum product strength is required. Manufactured from high quality portland cement clinker, plasticizers, ground limestone, and air-entraining additives under rigid, laboratory-controlled conditions, Mortamix performs dependably, batch after batch. Holcim Type M Masonry cement combines high compressive strength and tensile bond strength for above or below grade construction.

Holcim Mortamix Type M Masonry Cement conforms to ASTM C 91 Standard Specification for Masonry Cement and will produce a Type M mortar as specified by ASTM C 270, Standard Specification for Mortar for Unit Masonry.

Using Holcim Mortamix is easy. Simply add one bag of Mortamix to 2-1/4 to 3 cubic feet of sand meeting ASTM C 144 requirements. First add 1/2 to 2/3 of the potable water required, 1/2 the sand, one bag of Mortamix, and then the rest of the required sand and sufficient water to achieve desired workability. The mortar should be machine mixed for a minimum of five minutes after all materials are in the mixer.
