Patrick Dolberg believes Sustainable Development is a key component of the mission, strategy, and business goals of Holcim (US). Why it matters to Holcim As an employer, supplier, and neighbor we are committed to Sustainable Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. To keep this commitment requires a thoughtful balance of economic growth, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. Our approach today and in the future As one of the largest cement manufacturers in the United States, Holcim (US) produces the most important ingredient in concrete, a fundamental infrastructure component of modern society. As such, we recognize our responsibility to provide a sustainable future. We recognize our role in earning and keeping the trust and respect of our stakeholders – our employees, customers, communities, and shareholder – means a commitment to Sustainable Development. And we recognize our strong SD performance is not only a prerequisite for our license to operate, but will fundamentally strengthen our business and the communities in which we operate. A personal perspective For me, Sustainable Development goes beyond corporate objectives; it is the foundation of our society’s future. Its principles affect all of us. I take it very seriously because I have children myself and I want them to enjoy a good quality of life. Therefore, I share the Holcim (US) commitment to SD and to working with all of our stakeholders to pursue economic, environmental, and social responsibility. CEO profile Patrick Dolberg has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Holcim (US) since March 2003. Prior to his appointment he was a member of Holcim (US)’s Board and was Director, President, and CEO of St. Lawrence Cement Incorporated, a publicly held Quebec corporation, and of St. Lawrence Cement Group Incorporated, a publicly held Canadian corporation. Prior to St. Lawrence Cement, Mr. Dolberg was the General Manager for Queensland Cement in Australia. Patrick Dolberg is a member of various councils and committees of the Group of Holcim companies. In addition, Mr. Dolberg serves as a director for the Portland Cement Association. He received his MBA from Brussels University. |
