Improving connections to Bogotà

We are the exclusive supplier of the larger-than-life Bogotá-Villavicencio road infrastructure project, and is making the journey to Bogotà three times faster for hundreds of thousands of people.

“It’s the journey that matters, not the destination.” We have all heard this idea in some form before. The people of Villavicencio, however, might disagree. Today, the trip from Villavicencio to Bogotà takes more than four hours, isolating them from the heart of Colombia’s economy. A stable connection to the capital really does matter to the economic growth of their region, so to correct this problem the National Infrastructure Agency launched the Bogotá-Villavicencio road infrastructure project in 2015.

Today, the double-lane project is one of the major infrastructure projects currently under development in Colombia, linking the country's capital, Bogotá, to the plains of Los Llanos to the southeast.

It is estimated that the travel time will be reduced by 66 , from 4 hours to just over an hour. This time saving will undoubtedly accelerate the region's growth, employment and access to public services.

Holcim Colombia was chosen to be the exclusive supplier of concrete and cement by the consortium responsible for the project. Its technical expertise, the possibility of customising products, the reliability provided by an international company and above all its proximity and business relationship made Holcim Colombia the obvious choice for this larger-than-life project.
