Serbia: Artevia® concrete for the new Beočin city square

23 September 2010

In May 2009, LafargeHolcim in Serbia launched a competition aimed at young architects from the region for the refurbishment of a city square in Beočin, whose cement plant was celebrating its 170th anniversary under the LafargeHolcim name for the last 8 years.

This resulted in the inauguration of Beočin's new city square in June 2010. Fitting in perfectly with the surrounding urban landscape, the square stretches over a total surface area of 2,800 m² of Artevia® concrete and 700 m² of green spaces.

This gave LafargeHolcim an opportunity to promote its innovative products, while reinforcing its relations with architects and improving the quality of life of local communities.
