Sustainability

Sustainability driving profitable growth is at the core of Holcim’s NextGen Growth 2030 strategy, as we follow our industry-shaping sustainability roadmap as the leading partner for sustainable construction.

We’re scaling our sustainable offering, harnessing innovation to accelerate decarbonization, scaling circular construction in metropolitan areas and building a nature-positive future with solutions to bring nature into cities, while reducing our freshwater withdrawals.

How does Holcim approach sustainability?

Holcim’s sustainability approach centers on four key pillars: climate, circularity, nature and people.

Holcim’s science-based targets for our net-zero pathway are among the industry’s most ambitious. Our 2030 and 2050 net-zero targets are aligned with the 1.5°C framework and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

We’re building cities from cities with our ECOCycle circular technology. Our ambition is to recycle over 20 million tons of construction demolition materials (CDM) into new building solutions by 2030.

Holcim is focused on building a nature-positive future with our broad range of solutions to bring nature into cities, while reducing freshwater withdrawals by 33% versus 2020 and protecting biodiversity.

Our 45 000 Holcim people are united by the Holcim Spirit of Purpose, People and Performance. We’re committed to creating the best workplace, where talent is nurtured, employees are engaged and Health and Safety is top priority.
