What are some of Holcim’s most prominent partnerships?

Holcim partners with industry-leading architects, engineers, and designers, such as Alejandro Aravena’s ELEMENTAL, Zaha Hadid Architects, and the Norman Foster Foundation.

These collaborations deliver groundbreaking projects like our new biochar technology that transforms buildings into carbon sinks, a pioneering innovation for low-carbon construction.

This was the fruit of a collaboration with the architect Alejandro Aravena and his firm ELEMENTAL, and we presented it in Venice during the 2025 Architecture biennale.

Why are partnerships so important for Holcim?

As we accelerate the shift to sustainable construction, Holcim can’t do it alone. This is why we value strategic collaborations across the building value chain.

We engage with architects, engineers, developers, startups, urban planners and more to deploy the most innovative and sustainable building solutions to build the cities of the future.

What role do startups play in Holcim’s ecosystem?

Startups are innovation catalysts. Through Holcim MAQER Ventures and the Holcim Innovation Hub, we invest in and co-create with startups, to develop and scale cutting-edge solutions for a more sustainable built environment.
