Holcim-PRB offshore sailing ventures: entering a new phase

After three years competing at the highest level of offshore racing under the green and blue flag, Team Holcim-PRB is entering a new phase for the GO CIRCULAR sailing campaign.

We have decided to step back from our role as a primary sponsor in the IMOCA class and are now exploring new ways to continue contributing to the exciting world of offshore sailing, while honoring PRB’s proud legacy in offshore yacht racing.

The Holcim-PRB story is rooted in PRB’s proud offshore racing tradition. Based in Vendée, PRB has been a pillar of IMOCA racing for over 30 years, with two Vendée Globe victories to its name. Since its launch in 2022, the GO CIRCULAR IMOCA has upheld that legacy at the very highest level. The team made a powerful debut in The Ocean Race 2023, finishing second overall in the crewed round-the-world race. In the Vendée Globe 2025, skipper Nicolas Lunven secured an impressive sixth place among 40 starters. Most recently, in The Ocean Race Europe 2025, skipper Rosalin Kuiper led the team to a podium finish, taking third overall and earning the event’s Sustainability Award.

Olivier Troussicot, CEO PRB: “Offshore racing is an integral part of our DNA. We are grateful for everything we have experienced, achieved, and celebrated throughout the years. Now we look forward with excitement to writing a new chapter, one that celebrates our roots in offshore sailing while embracing fresh ways to contribute to the sport we love.”

Beyond sporting performance, the team has always raced with a clear purpose. Extending from sea to city, the campaign served as a platform to engage stakeholders across the value chain in advancing circular and sustainable building practices.

Aligned with Holcim’s purpose to preserve oceans, the team also carried a science program in every race, collecting vital data to help researchers better understand climate change and ocean health. In 2025 this commitment was reinforced with the donation of an artificial reef to Kiel, creating new marine habitats and supporting local biodiversity.

Alexia Sommer, Chief Communications Officer, Holcim: “We are incredibly proud of Team Holcim-PRB for inspiring others and bringing the Holcim Spirit to life, while championing the GO CIRCULAR mission around the world. This evolution allows us to continue celebrating these achievements while investing strategically where we can make the greatest long-term impact, for sailing, for ocean health, and for the wider community.”
