2021 Holcim Highlights

In 2021 we delivered what we promised under Strategy 2022 – one year in advance. We made big changes and reached major milestones, pushing our company to new limits. Take a look at the recap below.

 

New identity for a single purpose

Last summer, we unveiled a new Group identity that goes beyond new letters on the ticker or new colors on the website. We united all our market brands behind a single purpose: to build progress for people and the planet.

 

New brands

Firestone Building Products


We acquired Firestone Building Products, a market leader in commercial roofing and building envelope solutions.

ECOPlanet Green Cement


We launched ECOPlanet, our global range of green cement that offers at least 30% lower carbon footprint with no compromise on performance.

DYNAMax


We introduced DYNAMax, the ultimate performance concrete made for maximum design freedom.

TectorPrint 3D printing proprietary ink


Key construction projects used TectorPrint, our proprietary 3D printing ink, to build for the future, including the world’s first 3D-concrete-printed bridge built entirely without reinforcement and Africa’s largest 3D-printed affordable housing project.

 

New recognitions

 

Our full net-zero pathway was validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the first such recognition in our sector.

 

Nineteen of our green building solutions were endorsed by the Solar Impulse Foundation with its “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” label, which champions the most innovative technologies around the world that protect the environment in a profitable way.

 

At the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), Holcim became a founding member of the First Movers Coalition, a platform for the world’s leading global companies to drive green demand.

People Strategy

We launched our People Strategy, designed to create CHF 500m in social value by 2030, with a focus on bridging the world’s gap in affordable housing and infrastructure.

 
Nature-Positive Strategy

We introduced our Nature-Positive Strategy, becoming the first in the construction sector to commit to measurable positive impact on biodiversity.

 
Strategy 2025

At Capital Markets Day, we kicked off “Strategy 2025 – Accelerating Green Growth,” to become the global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions.
