Ductal® concrete for the 2010 Olympics

16 April 2010

The Olympic cauldron at Whistler is made of Ductal®, our ultra-high performance concrete.

Situated in the Whistler Medals Plaza, the scene of nightly victory ceremonies during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the Paralympic Winter Games, it will remain as an important part of the Olympic legacy. The cauldron is 5.5 m high, with a 1.3 m base; designed by Tim Fagan, industrial designer (Bombardier), assembled by Dominique Alary (Lumid Lighting Tools) and produced by Bill Gockeler (Artisans In Concrete).
